Quickly rising and getting dirty are the conditions on the river right now.

We have had a good run for a few weeks with water conditions being very manageable. This usually leads to a consistent bite and this last stretch has held true to form. Staying in the river or backwaters and dragging bait up and down stream has been the ticket for getting bit on a regular basis.

Flow is still the deciding factor when determining how to get it in front of them. One detail I can't stress enough is, even when you think there is too much current, pull your baits downstream as well as upstream. I've had many days when we thought we had to slow down to keep it in their face longer only to find out that pulling baits downstream rather quickly really made them snap.

We are in the process of absorbing a LOT of water as of late. This will make for an iffy week or so as all the tributaries empty into the big river. Probably be a good thing in the long run but the next few days will drive us to find some cleaner water, likely at the bottom of the lake.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.
