The river at Red Wing is in great shape.  Levels and flow are falling slowly, temps are steadily rising and clarity is good.

A lot of water has passed under my boat since the last report.  We went through a nice raise in water and now we are receding slowly and steadily.  The gates at the dam went back in the water on Friday and will likely stay there for a while.

The fishing has been really good almost every day since the last update.  Even as the water rose quickly last week, it stayed very clean.  This is usually all we need to keep us catching this time of year.  I do think that we are a little ahead of schedule pertaining to the spawn.  Our water temps have been in the low 40s for quite a while now and should go on up quickly in the days ahead.  This will likely push our fish through the process a little quicker than the past couple years.

Water levels are a bit lower than what people have gotten used to in recent years as well but are really more in the normal range at least in my eyes.  The next week should be great and find us right in the middle of the whole spawning thing.

A bunch of pics below that I won't go through individually but will say that almost all were caught on some form of plastic pulled slowly upstream.
