Clear water and low flow are the current conditions on the river.

I have not spent a lot of time on the water in the last couple weeks due to other commitments but the few times I have been out have still produced.  Still bouncing back and forth between pulling presentations upriver and vertical jigging plastics down stream.

The water is becoming increasingly clear each time out.  This usually means shallower fish will get harder and harder to catch.  It's not that they aren't there but just a little more gun shy with high visibility. The fish we have been catching have been in 15-25 fow and all on plastics of some sort.

I had a fun day on the water with the guys below in pictures.  Brian Hilgardner, Dan Ruiz and Rick Moskwa got in on some sauger action. Not a fast bite but enough to keep the blood flowing.

As the water continues to clear, the deeper fish should still cooperate fishing vertically but to fool shallower fish it will be important to get whatever baits you're fishing away from the boat.
